    Built Installation

What if… we got lost along the way?

UW AIAS has elected to deliver a reflective and transparent maze installation as a metaphorical symbol of the organization’s values, highlighting its main facets: mentorship, progression, and career trajectory for students exploring the architectural field. The reflective/transparent maze, embodies AIAS’s values of mentorship, progression, and career trajectory while delving into the project’s theme, “What if we got lost along the way?”

The maze’s design, with its reflective surfaces and transparent barriers, symbolizes the complexities and uncertainties inherent in career development. The reflections create an illusion of multiple paths, representing the multiple choices and potential mentors one encounters, while the transparency signifies the clarity and guidance good mentorship provides. And as you look behind you can see others facing similar issues and you can be a mentor to them as you once experience the same problem.
