“Pencil” Pantheon is a monument to optimism, physically insisting viewers “look up” and re-connect with the cosmos. The installation draws on architecture’s innate ability to provide basic human needs of shelter, light, and connection to nature: a constant within time’s ever changing variations.

Low walls semi-enclose a space defined by a ceiling of hanging colored drawing tools, alluding to the individual and collective ability to create design and change the world. The inside surface of the walls becomes a canvas for festival goers to co-create the pantheon.
