SDF 2023: CURIOSITY
Earlier this year we invited our community to let us know what they want to see from this year’s Festival. A huge thank you to everyone who provided feedback to launch our planning! During the kickoff event, we were reminded that the Seattle Design Festival is, and must continue to be, an opportunity for everyone to engage. Participants challenged us to design a Festival that evokes inspiration, hope, and an expanded sense of community. It’s time to ask ourselves how can we make it better.
What does the future of Seattle look like? How can design help our communities thrive? What if we see the city from different perspectives? How do the questions we ask shape the answers we get? What questions burn inside you?
Curiosity fuels passion and sparks innovation. By asking what if, we are free to step into the unknown. Free to challenge the status quo, expand knowledge, develop new relationships, and make new discoveries. Design thinking has the power to create change, to seek understanding, and to envision an equitable future.

Become an SDF Partner
Respond to our call for proposals to propose an experience for the Festival. Our call will launch in April and will include our full theme statement, an overview of the types of experiences we’ll be looking for this year, and important information about how to align to our Festival goals.
April— Call for proposals opens
May— Proposals are due
June— Accepted Festival partners are notified
July— Festival website goes live
