Dream, Design, Build, Repeat: A Conversation About Youth Design and Social Change With Non-Profit Sawhorse Revolution

What does it mean for teens to design and build responses to some of Seattle’s toughest social problems? What kinds of change might come about if young people designed part of the built world? Is there a difference when youth engage in the practice of design? For the past several years, Sawhorse’s diverse Seattle high school students have been designing and building for a local homeless community. The program teens team with professional architects and builders. Students engage in the entire process of a design and a build, from client consultation, through a rigorous design process to building a completed structure.
