  • Visitors will see large painted textiles that are based on many indigenous cultures around the world.

They are touchable, with rich mixed media inclusions. The artist will also tell stories about world events associated with their creation.

Deer Creek Studio installation artists, Doe Stahr and Michael Clyburn, present a small collection of large textiles that were created to honor the members of global and Indigenous cultures resident here in the Northwest. Wherever we gather in our rich diversity, we seek to hold the space with art, for all to have a voice, and for all to feel respected and honored. We make peace with art. Whether they are deployed as stage dressing, table decor for conferences or galas, or proudly carried in parades- this art serves whole communities rather than individuals. Come see some in person, where the details draw you in and the designs communicate wordlessly, a wealth of cultural wisdom.
