Disrupt the paradigm of “new = nice” with a visit to a pop-up shop featuring totally free reclaimed goods. This equitable “retail” space welcomes all community members without the social segregation that comes with price-point.

Peruse, try on, and take home your own piece of this installation art project, created from foraged streetwear from the artist’s own neighborhood of Capitol Hill. Shoppers can share their participation by posting photos with their “purchases” on social media with the hashtag #chfreestore.

Explore the hidden life and costs of the items we throw away, and buck the trend of throw-away consumerism that fuels fast fashion and overwhelms landfills in our country and others. Help to rebalance the system with an article of rebranded reclaimed clothing.
