Explore the ways design can make our homes more livable and our urban environments more navigable for people of all abilities.

Universal Design benefits all of us, during every season of life. Whether you live with disabilities, are chasing toddlers, have aging-related needs, are healing from an injury, or just lugging groceries or pets around, accessible design can improve the way you live and travel. Come explore how design can make our homes more livable and our urban environments more navigable for people of all abilities and ages.

Experience a model bathroom built with Universal Design features and test your knowledge about which elements are designed with accessibility in mind—you might be surprised! Then, take a short, guided tour through the nearby urban landscape to experience how design features impact the mobility of people who experience physical or cognitive impairments. We encourage people to take these tours with the intention of using this experience to inform their professional design-related work.
