CreativeMornings is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community with chapters in over 148 cities around the globe. Our free, monthly events feature a short talk and breakfast. Founded in 2011, CreativeMorning Seattle has hosted speakers from a range of backgrounds to speak about design and creativity.

Lucia Neare is a 21st-century pioneer of larger-than-life theatre in public spaces. Her company’s mission is as much social and political as artistic: to confront urban dilemmas with the power of free theatre, and nurture community by inspiring ferocious joy in the public realm. Since 2006, Neare has presented 47 large-scale site-specific works in the Pacific Northwest. In 2014, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation bestowed one of its inaugural Impact Awards on Neare for these groundbreaking large-scale, public works.

CreativeMornings Seattle Chapter Host, David Conrad, has been involved with the local chapter since its inception in 2011. As the owner of the interaction design firm, Design Commission, and a practicing designer, he’s passionate about the potential for design and creativity to elevate the human experience. Originally hailing from a small mountain town in Colorado, David entered the world of design as the world wide web was just beginning to take form in the mid 90s. It was with this influence that he has built his practice around helping business create value through the intersection of design and technology. This interest in intersection of multiple disciplines is also the reason that CreativeMornings has been such a natural fit for him as a host. Every month he leads a team of exceptional local creatives to put on events that spark imagination and build community.
