Team: City of Seattle OPCD + SDCI Change Team
Our website will collect and share stories of how the City and community have exacerbated racism and advanced liberation. Building off the work of similar websites, we will showcase icons of amazing leaders and activists specific to Seattle/Duwamish/Coast Salish history. Each icon will have a mini-bio and an opportunity to post stories about the person.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these stories will begin as online experiences on this platform. When it’s safe to do so, we hope to also create physical exhibits that could be displayed throughout the city.
Our program will be mostly visual-based, primarily consisting of text and images. The majority of the text will be presented in English, although we intend to provide translations to the extent practicable.
