The Emergence is an installation of Design in the Parks, and will be visible in Lake Union Park starting on August 10th.
The site is on a manmade plane hovering on top of water. The metropolis of Seattle to the East, Puget Sound to the West; The natural shoreline, the original threshold that balances the city and nature is invisible, hidden beneath our feet.
The Emergence is a threshold, a point of entry that abstracts the natural shoreline experience that ushers the visitors from the city to the nature. As visitors move through the installation, the experience will inspire the emotive notion of moving through water and the sea floor, restoring a sense of balance.
