Vertigo is an installation of Design in the Parks, and will be visible in Lake Union Park starting on August 10th.
Currently, the installation proposed is a field of objects made from reused materials. These objects are weighted, providing the opportunity from them to sway with human engagement but to stay rooted in their location. These objects will be configured so that they can physically run into each other, creating sounds. Materiality, geometry, solids, and voids will all provide a different acoustical reaction. To unify these objects, they will receive a cohesive color or pattern. Our current image draws inspiration from the WWII naval camouflage to pull from the site it sits on.
