Women of Color Speak Out come to Cornish Playhouse to present on climate change and systems of oppression and how this informs the creative practice. They call upon designers and artists to use their skills in solving the environmental crisis by shifting the dominant narrative of our current economic, political and ecological crisis.

Women of Color Speak Out is a collective of direct action activists and grassroots organizers with Rising Tide Seattle, 206 Zulu, Indians for Justice, Seattle Bhakti Yoga, Rainier Beach Restorative Justice Project and Parisol. Shifting the dominant narrative in policy and science, we speak out on how systems of oppression have led to our current worldwide economic and ecological disaster. We speak on capitalism, colonialism, racism and the prison industrial complex and how these systems lead into climate change.
Doors @ 6:30pm; event starts at 7pm.
