Where does uneaten food go after a meal? The land remembers everything you throw away. Into the soil. Into the water. Into the plants. What the Soil Remembers is a living compost table coming to Seattle Design Festival 2026.
Sit down. Have a meal. Scrape your scraps into the pipe. The worms eat everything you don’t, turning waste into fertilizer. Watch the ‘worm tea’ drip into the planter at the center of the table. The whole cycle, right in front of you, in the time it takes to finish a plate. Yes, it’s a little strange eating next to a composting unit. But that’s the point. The best meals make you think, and this one might change what you do after every meal. Come eat. Feed the worms. Watch something grow.
