Do you want to play a crucial role in shaping the Seattle Design Festival (SDF) and connecting with the local design community? If so, we invite you to join us as a planning volunteer for the 2024 Seattle Design Festival.
Planning Team Volunteer Commitment
As a planning volunteer, you will commit to a bi-weekly schedule of meetings from February through August. In addition to these meetings, you may be asked to contribute to subcommittee work as needed. On average, you can anticipate a monthly commitment of 5-6 hours with an increased commitment in August to implement the Festival.
We are looking for volunteers who are
Passionate: Your enthusiasm for design, architecture, urbanism, arts, public programming, or event management will be the driving force behind our collective success. Importantly, you do not need to be a design professional to be part of this team; all skill sets are welcome!
Relationship Builders: Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will work closely with community partners to help bring their programs to life.
Collaborative: We need individuals who are willing to step up and assist when required, fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
Reliable: You should be able to attend all core team meetings and deliver on commitments to ensure the smooth planning and execution of the Festival.
Primary Duties

Supporting Festival Partners: Once proposals are accepted, you’ll work closely with partners to ensure they can bring their ideas to life effectively.
Working with Day-of Volunteers: During the Festival, you will collaborate with day-of volunteers to implement all Festival elements and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Budget + Resource Management: You will be operating within the budget provided by the Festival staff, ensuring that resources are allocated wisely.
