When entering the 2025 Block Party, a brightly colored pink and blue ‘tent’ likely caught your eye. Called “The Feedback Machine,” this built installation featured custom printed colorful fabric with both Thai and English text. “Ever wondered what kind of feedback works for you?” it asked as attendees entered the enclosure.

Designed by multidisciplinary designer Arpo Sriapha, The Feedback Machine was designed for interaction, with questions, prompts, and a mirror for deeper elements of reflection. This installation offered a mindful moment of pause amongst the Festival’s lively pace.

Earlier last month, we were thrilled to see a new colorful, soccer-themed design by Arpo, entered as a mural finalist for Dick’s Drive-In’s “Game Ready” Mural Design Contest in preparation for the World Cup this summer. Arpo’s design was one of two Grand Prize Winners, which will be produced as vinyl murals and showcased at two Drive-Ins in January 2026 (one in Kent, the other at Federal Way).

“The design features Seattle’s beloved easter eggs getting ready for the game: orcas playing soccer; a raccoon sipping a classic shake while cheering from the corner flag; an octopus sneaking an ice-cream cone from the pick-up window; a seagull living its best life, eating fries while watching the match from above; sasquatch warming up on the sidelines; and a bear carefully balancing its favorite combo. Together, the mural celebrates the city’s quirky spirit and its love for sports, food, and good times,” (Dick’s Drive-In).

Help us celebrate design in community by visiting Arpo’s mural (and getting a milkshake while you’re at it).
