Why Your Vote Matters

Two powerful themes—Threshold and In[Flux] —are in the running to guide the 16th anniversary of the Seattle Design Festival. Now, we need YOU to decide which theme will set the stage this year. At the Seattle Design Festival, our themes ignite creative exploration, spark dialogue, and inspire meaningful design responses. This is your chance to influence the conversations and experiences that will shape SDF 2026.

Both themes offer a compelling lens for design:

In[Flux]

In[Flux] explores tension, movement, and change during this critical moment in time. Proposed as a modular theme, “In[___]” rotates to include In[Flux], In[Tension], In[Habit] and In[Form]. Each variation is intentionally incomplete on its own; meaning is created through the pairing of language and context.

Threshold

Threshold explores the in-between spaces—physical, social, and political—where we’re brought together whether we choose it or not. By examining how we move through them, Threshold asks how these passageways can open new possibilities for personal awareness and collective change.
