Consider becoming a day-of SDF volunteer!
SDF offers a range of volunteer opportunities, whether your specialty is in social media, video editing, event implementation, or providing detail-oriented production support – find a role that suits your interests and professional development goals.
The Seattle Design Festival is a volunteer-powered organization, and we appreciate your support in making this year’s Festival a success.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Commitment: August 14, 15, or 16 (3-8 hours, depending on your availability)
Be part of our signature outdoor event that welcomes over 7,000 visitors throughout the weekend! As a Block Party Volunteer, you’ll provide crucial day-of support in various roles including:
- Production Support
- Evaluation Support
- Social Media Support
- Festival Replay Support
- Partner/Guest Support
Commitment: Work may begin in early August with onsite support needed August 15 & 16 (remote commitment is flexible based on your interest). Are you skilled in video editing? Join our Mainstage team to help edit pre-recorded SDF programs by:
- Onsite production support, including stage management, recording, and partner support.
- Trimming and editing video footage to create cohesive narratives
- Incorporating graphics, text overlays, and animations
- Ensuring videos align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent aesthetic
Commitment: August 20 (3-4 hour commitment)
Support our Closing Party that celebrates the design community! This gathering at The Shop @ LMN is perfect for volunteers who want to:
- Set up SDF signage
- Greet guests and manage check-in
- Assist with event setup and takedown
- Help with clean-up after the event

Complete this Volunteer Interest Form and save the date for the Partner & Volunteer Social on Thursday, July 30 to mix, mingle, and get excited for SDF’26! Volunteer orientation will take place from 5-6pm, while the Partner & Volunteer Social from 6-8pm will serve as an opportunity to connect in-person, screen-print t-shirts, and socialize with the SDF community.
