The 2021 Seattle Design Festival (SDF) has come to a close, but the energy generated from gathering as a community is still palpable. It was so much fun seeing you all there, in person, after so many months of planning remotely.  We saw over 6,400 people visit the Block Party! Thank you for being part of our community, and for letting us be part of yours. We are so excited to continue to EMERGE with you into 2022.

As important members of the SDF community, we wanted to share that we are in the process of strengthening our alignment with AIA Seattle and expanding programming that fosters a culture of design, creating equitable, resilient, and thriving communities.

Seattle Design Festival is a mission-driven community organization that helps you discover your own path to change-making through design. We connect diverse communities, democratize design, inspire & engage, and expand design’s influence.

As we move to increase our impact, we remain committed to the two key ingredients that have been central to the SDF identity for the past 11 years:

Multiple design disciplines
SDF was designed from the start to be multi-disciplinary, broader than just the built environment disciplines. This is a characteristic that both SDF and AIA truly value.

Focus on community and social justice
From its inception, SDF has leaned into its grassroots nature and sought to be a voice for equity and justice. The Festival is committed to recent efforts to cultivate and fund deliberate partnerships with community partners like Coyote Central.

We continue to look for opportunities to partner with other community organizations aligned with our mission and goals, and we invite you to join us as we work to unleash the power of design for all!
