Let’s imagine ecoTHRIVE Housing’s first resilient village together! Join us in visualizing a beautiful community-centered village that is affordable for today, for generations – for good.
We will have a large-scale model of our 1.8-acre building site to help us envision all of the ways we can build beauty and resilience into our village – such as paths, landscaping, and other community amenities. We will also have our resilient design criteria to provide inspiration.
ecoTHRIVE Housing is a non-profit organization and community land trust that has worked with the City of Burien to create the zoning variance we need to build a village of affordable ecoCottages on an oversized lot in a single-family zone. The sky is the limit as far as what we can propose (with justification!) – which is why we are turning to you, our community. We want to hear all of the ideas YOU can imagine, with an eye and mind toward beauty and balance, affordability, and longevity- including efficient, passive solar design, integrated water-management systems, edible landscaping, and more!
With everyone’s creativity and unique perspectives, we can craft a truly revolutionary vision for affordable housing where people- and our planet-can THRIVE!
