As urban planners and urban designers, we are constantly looking to what the future will ask of our urban spaces. COVID- 19 has made having a clear understanding of what our futures hold more challenging than ever, but we do now have a significant level of information to respond to. This discussion will center on why density remains a critical design tool for making our cities safer, more resilient, and more equitable and how to continue to support safe, healthy, and equitable urban growth.
