Walk through Lake Union’s depths to discover the mysteries within. From salmon to shipwrecks, we uncover the history, hydrology, and habitats of Lake Union.

What was the lake before Seattle? And what will it become next? How can we balance a city’s modern needs and an ecosystem’s environmental functions to achieve a healthier home for water, wildlife, and people?

Partnering with Stewardship Partners, Weber Thompson presents Lake Union: Below the Surface. A dynamic, multi-layered experience on the shores of the body of water it reflects, Below the Surface, invokes the curiosity to explore and imagine a better future for Lake Union. Immersed in a sea of color and abstracted topographic shapes, visitors progress through the lake’s layers to learn of its diverse and fragile ecology. Below the Surface celebrates the beauty of nature and the biophilic benefits of being in an urban environment surrounded by water.
