The Seattle Design Festival is a platform for bold design conversations. We believe that design is for everyone and that inclusive co-design practices are essential to shaping an equitable Seattle. We are multidisciplinary, socially engaged and civic minded.
Acou[stick] comprises flexible sticks, each equipped with sound-producing mechanisms, reacting to both internal and external stimuli. As participants engage and play with the pieces, their actions contribute to a layered, ever-evolving soundscape, transforming personal experiences into a collective rhythm. Acou[stick] offers a unique experience, informed by varying levels of sound and elasticity, to create an engaging and responsive atmosphere. At the core of Acou[stick] are several large, bouncy balls that function as dynamic, reciprocal seesaws. These elements respond to users’ movements, rising and falling in rhythm, creating a shared, embodied experience that connects people through motion and sound.
