The Seattle Design Festival is a platform for bold design conversations. We believe that design is for everyone and that inclusive co-design practices are essential to shaping an equitable Seattle. We are multidisciplinary, socially engaged and civic minded.
Guide a ball through the sand. Explore each texture, notice your imprints, and invite crossing paths. Let your senses shape this space and be shaped in return — this is feedback.
“Imprints” is an invitation of dialogue and growth together in the form of a sand garden. It’s about sensing, shaping, and being shaped in return. Like a sandbox, it inspires play with curiosity and courage. Each participant discovers fresh textures while paths emerge and combine beneath their touch. Shared motion builds identity and belonging. Subtle nudges alter our gestures creating natural reflection: how do we affect this space? How does it affect us? This is more than an installation, it’s a space of subtle feedback where meaning arises through participation.
