Mapping Belonging: Pedestrian Access Studio

August 16 - 17 | All Day

Step inside a dynamic installation where design, data, and storytelling come together. Explore our interactive sidewalk maps, watch live pedestrian feedback scroll across a ticker, and see how your input can shape the pedestrian landscape. The Pedestrian Access Studio celebrates the creativity of community-powered planning—and invites you to become part of the active mapmaking movement shaping where and how we move.

This installation creates an inviting, open environment showcasing interactive tools that illuminate the challenges and innovations around pedestrian accessibility and equitable placemaking. Within the space, visitors engage with the Walksheds Tool—an interactive display that visualizes pedestrian reachability in urban neighborhoods. Complementing this, a real-time GoInfoGame feedback ticker highlights community-sourced data contributions on pedestrian infrastructure barriers, emphasizing the power of collective feedback. An AccessMap interactive display offers an accessible interactive routing experience, illustrating how inclusive design can transform urban navigation for people with diverse abilities.
