The Seattle Design Festival is a platform for bold design conversations. We believe that design is for everyone and that inclusive co-design practices are essential to shaping an equitable Seattle. We are multidisciplinary, socially engaged and civic minded.
Mood Ring is an immersive and visually dynamic installation that explores the theme of Feedback through the lens of emotional awareness. Participants are invited to share their current emotional state by applying color to a large, rotating metal ring. As the ring turns, these individual expressions form a collective portrait of community emotion that transforms throughout the weekend. By making emotion visible, Mood Ring encourages reflection on the emotional context that supports meaningful feedback. It offers a space to express emotion and witness the feelings of others. Striking from afar and engaging up close, the installation blends design and empathy into a shared public experience.
