No matter how hard we try, we can never truly see the world through someone else’s eyes. Standing in front of this mirror, you are greeted with hundreds of your own eyes staring back at you. The title “What Do They See?” asks not about the eyes, but about the people around you. The question is impossible to answer simply by looking. No matter where you move, you will only ever see your eyes, not theirs, and taking a picture yields a photo with no eyes at all. “What Do They See?” reminds us of our limits and encourages us to realize that, if we want to truly know the perspectives of those around us, we must actually engage in conversation and listen to each other. Simply looking is not enough. The real art happens outside the mirror.
