Becoming: Public Art in Progress — a window into the collaborative fabrication process

August 16 | 12:30pm-1pm

A new, permanent public art piece will be integrated into the nearly-completed Interdisciplinary Arts building at Bellevue College.

Titled “Becoming,” the highly-sculpted wood piece includes “messages of wisdom” from faculty, students and collaborators, and is in the midst of fabrication. Co-presented by the artist and fabricator, come learn about the project and how its collaborative fabrication process is very much a part of the art.

This permanent public art project is literally in flux; in the works for 2 years planned to be installed this September. Learn about this exciting, dynamic, and collaborative fabrication process, with visuals and drawings, sound and physical elements for people to touch and feel.
