Participants will be invited to create a set of tangram tiles by cutting stained glass with basic tools. Snapping glass for the first time can feel daunting and dangerous, but with ample safety equipment and guidance, anyone can make a clean satisfying break and form their shapes. Festival goers will then be asked to write why they chose the color of glass, and then contribute one or more of their pieces to the community ‘bin’ of pieces in exchange for another participants.
If the participants are participating at the same time, this can lead to a conversation between artists. If participants are doing their work at a different time than others, they can read the blurb from past participants and connect that way as well.
